Ruaha National Park is one of Tanzania’s largest and least travelled park wilderness areas. The park is also the largest remote park in southern Tanzania. Its rugged beauty, dramatic landscapes, and remote location offer a truly raw safari experience. Anchored by the Great Ruaha River, the park’s water sources draw dense concentrations of wildlife, especially during the dry season. You’ll see majestic herds of elephants, prides of lions, and leopards moving through acacia woodlands and kopjes. Besides, the national park is home to elephants, zebras, lions, giraffes, ostriches, gazelles, antelopes, spotted hyenas, hippos, hunting dogs, with crocodiles in the Ruaha River. More than 500 bird species are recorded to be present in the park. Not all birds are native; some are migratory too.
